Jakarta, close to 'Lebaran' Day, The Price of Beef is still
high
In the middle of June 2016, the
price of beef is still around Rp. 120.000 – 130.000,-/ kg. it is above the
normal price which is about Rp. 80.000 – 90.000 / kg.
President Jokowi has
asked for the price Rp. 80.000 / kg but there are some conditions needed to be
fulfilled. Such as the regulation of export and import beef from Canada, Brazil
or India.
“The normal price of beef is not
only from the exported product, but also should be from in the Country,
Indonesia” Said Sutrisno. Indonesia has the resources needed to have enough
beef for the country.
The government should present to the
need of the farmer to grow up their productivity so more people could buy beef
in an affordable price.
But for now, the government can’t do
much about this, since the regulation for this is not confirmed yet. It could
be possible next year the price is about to be normal again.
What can we learn from this

- Many farmers can work harder if government pays attention more to their needs in their farm, such as field, barn, and also irrigation
- Indonesia has a lot of fields to grow more cattle. It’s a matter of diligent or laziness of people.
- Nowadays, many areas are filled with housing complex. So the green areas for farming are not useful anymore for plantation or for cattle.
